Presentation of Hrpelje-Kozina

Hrpelje-Kozina was formed in 1995 by secession from the community of Sežana, and is located east of Trieste (Italy) on the Slovenian side of the border. As such, it is an important crossroad (routes Ljubljana-Koper and Trieste-Rijeka [Croatia]), both for road and railway. Hrpelje and Kozina are two towns separated by the railway tracks.

Municipal flag of Hrpelje-Kozina

The flag and arms of Hrpelje-Kozina are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Hrpelje-Kozina, adopted on 14 March 2002, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 30/2002.

The symbols were designed by Valt Jurečič of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.

The flag is rectangular, in proportion 2:5. It is a banner of the municipal arms, green with a white saltire and a wheel in the middle.
