According to message from Organisation department of Urad Nitrianskeho samospravneho kraja the flag of named Region has quartered field with vertical dividing line in 1/3 of the field, the hoist blue over red, the fly yellow over blue. Put in other words - per scandinavian cross blue - yellow - red - blue. It is second Slovak regional flag of this pattern - the first is that of Kosice Region.  The ratio is 2:3 as usual.

The arms of Nitra region with St. Ladislaus and Cumanian warrior (but alas - still no flag there) is presented in full splendour. ) Newspaper "Sme" from 14th May 2002 says that Nitra region flag has four fields and blue, red and yellow coulours - nothing more.

Nitra (in Hungarian: Nyitra) region is using the CoA of the formerly Hungarian county: Nyitra (in Slovakian: Nitra).
This CoA was the second variation from 1606, because the original seal (given by King Ferdinand I in 1550) was lost.
