Partizánske is in western Slovakia, 53 km north of Nitra with 20.000
inhabitants. In Partizánske is the biggest shoe factory in Slovakia.
Jarig Bakker
from the Partizánske
website: "This flag is also quite new and made by a teacher of history
who is interested in flags and arms. The colours are connected with the
emblem and each one has its own meaning."

Comment from the Partizánske
website: This one is an older town emblem which you can also see a
symbol of shoe industry expressed by a boot on. The fire behind a hill
is a sign of the SNP (Slovak National Revolt) because Partizánske was one
of the revolt centres. The Slovak National Revolt took place in 1848; on
the 9 February, 1949 the city of Bat'ovany was renamed Partizánske."

It may be of some interest to note that this fire is the one shown in
the former Czechoslovakian coat of arms as escutcheon, symbolizing in it
the Slovakian part of the joint state.
