Red with in the upper part yellow name in script font in Cyrillic [Kazakh] (K,azak, SSR) and Cyrillic [Russian] (Kazachskaja SSR). Big yellow hammer and sickle on the hoist.

The kazakh inscription contains (twice) the special letter ka with “hook”: "Казаӄ ССР", which is different from the normal, “hook”-less, cyrillic ka.
