Tadjikistan was created ASSR on 15 March 1925 and adopted a flag on 23 February 1929.

The emblem on the upper hoist looks like some kind of seal or “coat of arms”, but itʼs not the later Tadzhik SSR emblem.

The tajik inscription contains the special letter cha with “hook”: "РСС Тоӌикистон", which is different from the normal, “hook”-less, cyrillic cha.
