"The modern coat of arms was approved in May 19 1995. In the azure field there is the St Phlorian in a azure knightly armour douse a fire by the water from a vessel, in the right hand he keeps a gules board with a three crosslike lances. The author is I.Yanushkevych."

"The first mentions about Sharhorod refers to the XIV century. The town belonged to the family of the princes Zamoiskys. In honor of their ancestor Florian Sharyi the town got its name."
