The Flag

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed at June, 5, 2001 by the session of regional council. The rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length 2:3 which consists of two parts - from a staff goes a vertical crimson strip (width in 1/3 lengths of a flag), on which three white flowers of a cherry (conditional diameter in 1/4 width of a flag), from free edge on a dark blue background are three crossed white spears. The authors are Uliana and Andriy Grechylo.
The basic symbol are three crossed spears that personify three historical ways running through territory of territory, and three cossack's squadrons (Umans'ka, Babans'ka and Kochubiivs'ka) which entered into second half XVII century, and whose lands now are in borders of modern area."
