The Gonfalon

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry :
"In November 13 1991 the session of the town council approved the gonfalon: a Sqare canvas, in the green field there is or triple-felled Gutsul church. In the top and in the bottom the gonfalon is framed by the yellow edging. Width of the edging is 1/10 of width of the gonfalon."

"On the 13th of November 1991 town council session has confirmed a modern CoA: in a vert field there is an or triple-felling church. The Hutsul church symbolizes Kosiv as a historical and spiritual center of the region. The vert color symbolizes Carpathian woods among which the town is situated."

The City

"City in Ivano Frankyivsk Oblast. For the first time it was mentioned in 1424 in a deed of prince Svydrygailo. The historical emblem of Kosiv is a seal with a triple-felling wooden Hutsul church."
