The Gonfalon  

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"On 12 April 1994, the session of the town council approved the gonfalon: a square canvas with a ratio of 1:1. In a dark blue field there is Archangel Mykhail. On the sides the gonfalon there is yellow edging with width of 1/5 of a width of the gonfalon. The author is A.Grechylo."

"On the 12th of April 1994, the town council session confirmed a modern emblem - in an azure field there is archangel Michael in or clothes and a gules shirt with an argent sword and an or shield with gules cross. The wings are argent, the nimbus is or and the archangel stands on an argent cloud."

The City

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"City in Lviv Oblast. The first mention refers to 1397 when the Polish king Yagailo allowed to settle territories of a mountainous desert locality. The name, probably, has it origin from the word "skala".In 1660 the settlement got a status of a town."
