The Swedish flag and the white flag underneath it in the picture of the
police station represent the city's relationship and partnership with our sister
city in Solleftea, Sweden. The white flag is the City of Solleftea flag. It
contains a partridge.

As a citizen of Madison, Mississippi, I can say that the flag is flown in
front of city hall, the police department and the small local airport. Other
than that, is is not flown anywhere else in town. Not the fire department or any
other civic institution. Many cities here fly banners celebrating different
seasons and celebrate certain events. Regarding the Swedish flag, it used to be
flown on some holiday that was celebrated in Sweden. Something to see in central
Mississippi, streets lined not in the red, white and blue but in the blue and
yellow! :)
