The burgee of the University of Washington Yacht Club is a 1:2 triangular
flag made of two yellow triangles placed near the hoist and a purple lozenge
stretching over the rest of the flag. The letters U W in purple are placed
vertically in the yellow triangles.
The website of the yacht club:
http://students.washington.edu/sailing/welcome/burgee.shtml gives the
following additional details:
"A burgee is a small flag meant to be hoisted on the starboard shroud of a
keelboat to announce its club affiliation [...] Flying a club burgee is also a
requirement in order to exercise all those reciprocal moorage agreements. No
burgee - no free moorage!" [...] "Membership in the Washington Yacht Club
(Seattle) is open to all students, faculty, and staff of the University of
Washington, as well as members of the UW Alumni Association. Spouses of members
may join too."
