Pi Kappa Alpha was founded at the University of Virginia in 1868. As shown on fraternity websites, the flag is garnet with the Greek letters of the name on the center in gold, and the lower-case Greek letters phi, phi, chi, and alpha in the upper hoist, upper fly, lower hoist, and lower fly respectively. According to Baird's Manual, the flag also has the fraternity coat-of-arms on the center, but Baird's gives no indication as to the arrangement of the COA with the letters.
