Description

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is a voluntary organization operating in support of the U.S. Coast Guard, primarily in support of boating safety activities. Title 33 of the Code of Federal Regulations prescribes an "ensign" and a "patrol boat ensign" for the CG Auxiliary.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary flag - Medium blue with a broad white diagonal slash with the Coast Guard Auxiliary emblem in blue, rising at a 70 degree angle from the hoist. (33 CFR 5.47)

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Patrol Boat Ensign - White with a red slash rising at a 70 degree angle away from the hoist, followed by two narrow parallel stripes, white then medium blue, with the Coast Guard Auxiliary emblem centered on the red slash. This flag is flown by CG Auxiliary vessels operating as patrol boats under Coast Guard orders. (33 CFR 5.48)
