Overview

The municipal website of Santiago Mariņo (Aragua State) at <www.santiagomarino.arg.gov.ve> has a link to the symbols of this city but, unfortunately, the link leads to a "page not found". I located the flag here. The Coat of Arms is here.

The Flag - Attributes and Semiology: It consists in a field with approximated ratio 2:3 divided in six stripes. Superior and inferior ones are horizontal and enameled in sky blue, occupying approximately a fourth part of the wide of the field, whereas the rest constitutes the central stripe divided in saltire forming four triangles: the superior and inferior are yellow and green the lateral ones. The Municipality Coat of Arms at the center, completes the design. The sky blue stripes represent the sky and seas of Chuao and Cepe, town on  the Marinensian coast. The yellow triangles jointed in one of its vertex alludes to the human and progressive wealth of the Municipality settlers. The green triangles also united in one of its vertex represents the agricultural zone and the majesty of the Henry Pittier National Park, the greater vegetal lung of the locality. The Coat of Arms at the center, confers to the Flag the firmness of the Municipality.
Historical Synthesis: The Municipal Flag, was designed by the a girl: Miss Berica Araque, who as representing of the Educative Unit Santiago Mariņo of the town of Payita (Pedro Arevalo Aponte Parish) gave to the design figure and forms. Today, the Flag waves in the left mast on the Aerial Square of the Mayor Office, where was hoisted for first time on November 27th,  Turmero's Day on 2000.
