The new flag of Los Salias Municipality, whose capital is the
town of San Antonio de los Altos (=Saint Anthony of the Heights)
in the Miranda State, very near the city of Caracas.
Attributes and Semiology: It consists of a blue field with
approximated ratio 2:3 with two strips: yellow and green radiant
from the corner of the superior canton of the hoist thickening
until finishing in the corner and lower part of the inferior
canton of the fly-end. A constellation of three stars in vertical
arc and one coffee branch located on the superior canton of
the fly-end completes the design. The blue stripe alludes to the
pure and not contaminated air of the Municipality. The yellow one
represents its human wealth and the green one symbolizes the
vegetation of San Antonio de los Altos (Saint Anthony of the
Highs), Capital of the Municipality. The three stars remembers
the National, State and Municipal Government, whereas the coffee
branch reminds the main vegetal product of the zone.
Historical Synthesis: It was product of the concourse "Three
Symbols for Los Salias Municipality", organized by the
Municipal Council under the presidency of the Mayor Juan
Fernandez. Between five thousand received proposals the made one
by the Mrs. Oriana Olivares Del Valle (11 years old at the time)
was the winner. The Flag was made official on July 5th, 2002.
