Presentation of Kasterlee

Kasterlee is located in the arrondissement of Turnhout.

The name Kasterlee is derived from Latin castrum, a fort or a fortified camp, and old Germaniclee, a small river.

Jef Van Gils, 17 April 2003

Description of the flag

The flag is made of three horizontal blue-yellow-black stripes. The flag is the same as the flag as the Dutch province of Gelderland province, but there is no (other) connection, since the Kasterlee flag is based on the municipal coat of arms.

The flag was adopted by Municipal decision 3 June 1986, confirmed by Ministerial decision 10 March 1987.
