Description of the flag

Boortmeerbeek (11,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Leuven. In 1830 Dutch soldiers fled, and hid an Indian golden idol with a diamond eye somewhere. They were arrested, and because they refused to tell where it was hidden, they were shot. The Maagdenmanneke (Virgin's kid) must be buried somewhere in the Grootveld.

The flag is horizontally divided red-blue-yellow. Proportions are 2:3.

The flag was adopted on 7 October 1985.
