Municipal flag of Paliseul

Paliseul (5,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Neufchâteau. Paliseul means "Little palace", namely of the Austrasian kings, the eastern dominions of the Merovingian Franks, extending from the Meuse river to the Bohemian forest.

The flag of Paliseul is quartered, with the first and fourth quarters blue with a white tower and the second and third quarters horizontally divided red-white-red.
The flag was designed after the coat of arms of the Regiment of Bouillon in the service of France at the end of the XVIIIth century.
