The flag proposal is based on the banner of a moorish king of Seville which was placed by Ferdinand III at the feet of the Virgin of Valme at the Cuarto Sanctuary. This banner has ever since been linked to the history of our city, and is currently placed in the Parish Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, beside the image of Saint Ferdinand. Francisco Manuel García from Seville has sent me the Decree approving the flag of Dos Hermanas (Pascal Gross reported it as an official proposal) as published in the Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA, Official Bulletin of the Andalusian Regional Government) no. 111 of 26th September 2000:
