The Southern African Vexillological Association (SAVA) was formed in November 1990 and currently produces the SAVA Newsletter three times a year and the SAVA Journal once a year. The latter is more scholastic in content and deals with a specific topic which has been researched. The Newsletter is more topical and deals with current vexillological affairs and news about the association, vexillology in general etc.
