Hemelumer Oldeferd [former municipality]
Hemelumer Oldeferd (Frisian: Himmelummer Âldefurd) is a former municipality,
now part of the new municipalities of Gaasterlân-Sleat
and Nijefurd. Settlements: Koudum
(seat), Molkwerum, Warns, Scharl, Hemelum,
Kolderwolde, Oudega, Nijega, Elahuizen, Heidenschap (part,
other part in Workum).
The old flag was: three equally wide horizontal stripes of green, blue,
and black. It was a reflection of the municipal arms, first used on the
occasion of the parade in front of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard on
7 May 1962 in Leeuwarden.
The new flag was essentially the same, with the addition of a square
canton horizonatlly divided in two equally wide stripes of yellow and red.
